Mark and Karen are trained to Masters degree level in Musculoskeletal (MSK) rehabilitation and healthcare, a specialist field of study required for patient rehabilitation from injury. They specialise in examination, treatment and management of musculoskeletal injuries which may include neck/back pain, arm or leg sprains/strains due to aging, overuse injuries, following surgery and from sports injuries.

Rehabilitation involves personalised & progressively graded exercises at the appropriate time of the healing phase during the patient’s recovery. This ensures that joints & soft tissues (muscles, ligaments, tendons etc.) are not loaded too soon and allow healing to occur effectively, thereby preventing further injury & recurrence of symptoms during the different healing phases of an injury.

Rehabilitation when carried out by a qualified practitioner, with the correct advice and support within the critical time-frame, can help restore movement and improve a person’s ability to function, reduce symptoms, and allowing a safe return to the patients previous activities. Having achieved such remarkable results at Balance-Rite Therapy Clinic and with over 40 years of experience between us, we provide both hands-on physical therapy using Osteopathy and rehabilitation, because we have repeatedly found that this combination provides the best results in reducing MSK pain and symptoms, increasing functional movement, strength and restoring quality of life.

At Balance-Rite Therapy Clinic we are extremely lucky to be able to spend the time needed with patients, providing hands-on treatment, support, and self-management advice. The long waiting-lists on the NHS to receive treatment and rehabilitation generally means patients are not seen for months, until well into their critical healing-time, which in some patients means the soft-tissues cannot then be restored to a pre-injury state. Instead of adopting a ‘wait-and-see’ approach or purely exercise-based regime, the earlier our combined osteopathic treatment and rehabilitation commences the more improved chance of restoring full joint movement and subsequent quality of life. Our aim is to get you back to those activities you love to do most! Read about patients experiences here.
